Editor wishes readers a happy New Year

Editor of the Northcliff Melville Times, Aimee McGill wishes readers a happy new year.

Aimee McGill, Editor of Northcliff Melville Times writes:

Here it is – 2022 has finally arrived! What was a disastrous 2021 for many is over, and the new year has arrived with bells and whistles, promising a sensational 365 days that outshine the previous two years, second to none. Well, that’s what I am hoping for at least.

The past two years have been so tough for many of our readers, that we can only hope that 2022 brings with it ample sunshine, and rain of course; holidays uninterrupted by lockdowns; meetings held in person rather than online; and just simply put, a little bit of normalcy.

I hope that this year, the number of variants will subside, and that our children can go back to a childhood filled with playtime, laughter and love.

I believe that the past two years have taught us so much about resilience, and our own ability to survive, physically, mentally, in business and much more. And while I am sadly not naive enough to believe that it’s all over, I do hold hope! I hold hope that 2022 will bring us out from the ashes to see the sunshine just a little bit. Yes, there certainly will be setbacks, Covid-19 related and otherwise, but my hope is for a 2022 that shines just a bit brighter than we have experienced in the recent past.

Happy 2022 to all our readers – may it be a year of hope for you all!
