Dabulamanzi Canoe Club members came out tops at the SA Schools Sprint event recently.

The Gauteng paddlers worked hard in the build up to the SA Sprint Championships event which took place from 24 to 27 April 2021 at the Shongweni Dam, in the wake of the Gauteng Canoe Union Sprint Championships which took place early in March.

The 2021 regatta was the 26th national sprint champs. The three days of sprinting at the SA Schools and SA Sprint Championships was well attended by paddlers from across the country, with most of the age groups having to hold heats, semi finals before competing in finals.

There was an abundance of exceptionally close and exciting racing.

The event also doubled as the selection event for the junior and U23 world championships as well as the Olympic Hopes regatta. The teams will be announced in the next few weeks.
