Community urged to come to Woodside Sanctuary’s aid

COTTESLOE – The non-profit organisation is asking for donations of PPEs.

For Woodside Sanctuary, even though 2021 has seemed to start with much uncertainty and trepidation, the non-profit is cautiously optimistic about what lies ahead.

The sanctuary provides full-time residential care to persons with severe/profound intellectual disability. Its approach is said to continue to be holistic in nature and incorporates 24 hours a day nursing care, various forms of therapy, residential care, full-time and respite as well as rehabilitation and stimulation programmes.

Marketing manger ‘Loné Lourens said they know that Covid-19 will be around for some time to come and they know what they need to do in order to keep their angels (the residents) and staff safe. “One of the best ways that the public would be able to assist us would be to either donate much-needed PPE items such as KN95 masks, gloves, aprons, surgical booties and hand sanitiser.”

She added that they also need such things as face shields to help protect their staff and residents, or cleaning chemicals such as Microbac and Policide to help keep all of them hygienically safe and clean.

Should you be interested in assisting Woodside or would simply like some more information, contact Loné Lourens on lbotha@woodside.co.za or 011 726 7318.
