Alberts Farm becoming a lawless and ruleless place

ALBERTS FARM – The public has been urged to report by-law infringements to the authorities.

The public has been reminded to use the flagship park only for exercise and to avoid leaving any mess while they do.

The Friends of Alberts Farm Conservancy (FOAFC) have come out to remind all members of the public to respect the park. This comes as the conservancy group has taken note of the many by-laws being broken, which include people making fires in the park. The conservancy alleged that members of the public have been paying others R50 to start fires in the park to chase away the displaced people leaving there. The conservancy urged residents to not do this as, not only is it inhumane but extremely destructive to the plant and animal life living and dependant on the ecology of Alberts Farm. Friends of Alberts Farm pleaded with the public to rather report displaced people living in the park to the authorities.

Another issue facing the park is dumping and littering. The conservancy has seen and reported various vehicles dumping bakkie-loads of building rubble and garden refuse at the park and is pleading with the public to refrain from this act. People using the park are reminded to stop throwing their litter into the park. Dog owners have also been reminded to always clean up after their dogs following an unfortunate rise in people not doing such. The conservancy is pleading with the public to respect and follow all by-laws and rules of the park at all times, including Covid-19 lockdown regulations.
