Covid-19: Minister Thulas Nxesi hospitalised

His admission to hospital comes on the advice of his medical doctors, in order for him to have access to better medical attention and proper monitoring.

Cabinet has confirmed that Minister of Employment and Labour, Thembelani ‘Thulas’ Nxesi (MP),  has been admitted to hospital due to conditions related to Covid-19.

Nxesi was admitted last night after testing positive for Covid-19 almost a week ago. Until last night (20 July), he had been in self-quarantine at home.

“His admission to hospital comes on the advice of his medical doctors, in order for him to have access to better medical attention and proper monitoring,” read a statement issued by Cabinet Spokesperson, Phumla Williams.

Minister Nxesi is the second member of Cabinet to be admitted to hospital after Minister Gwede Mantashe.

“We wish both Minister Nxesi and Minister Mantashe well and a speedy recovery,” concluded the statement.
