Celebrating heritage at King David Victory Park

VICTORY PARK – The school selected two learners to go to Israel later this year after they created installations that beautifully depicted their heritage.

King David Primary School Victory Park learners embraced their linage as they displayed the history of each of their heritages.

The Grade 7 class amazed their families with their family tree creations, but two stood out from the rest. Aimee Shull and Adam Lapidus were the lucky two to be selected to enter the international exhibition that will take place in Israel later this year.

The exhibition is called My Family Story and is now in its 25th anniversary year. This is a meaningful and fun Jewish heritage program that involves 20 000 Jewish youth from over 30 countries around the globe. Learners have to research their roots and use their creative skills to design original, artistic installations that capture the essence of their family history. Top entries are then selected for display in an international exhibition with winners receiving a free ticket to Israel to participating in the opening.
