Shortstraw to headline #NightWalkies

ROOSEVELT PARK – Shortstraw to keep two-legged and four-legged walkers entertained.

Shortstraw has been announced as the headline act for a highly anticipated night dog walk.

Now that all your dogs and pups are excited for the dotsure.co.za Night Walkies, it’s time to excite the owners. Indie rockers, Shortstraw, will be on stage to keep the two-legged guests moving their feet while also being spoilt for choice thanks to the many other fun activities for pups and humans alike, all in an effort to raise money for this much-needed cause. This promises to be an unforgettable night out for the whole family and their pets.

Shortstraw is one of SA’s most treasured indie acts, with a fiercely loyal following. The multi-award-winning band has released a special track Bowsie for animal charity, making them the perfect fit for the debut of dotsure.co.za Night Walkies. Russell Grant of Shortstraw expressed, “It’s always great to see companies throwing these kinds of events where everyone wins. People learn about their insurance policies for animals, they have a good time, and the animals that need help the most get the profits, so we’re stoked to come and play a few songs.”

Shortstraw has toured with phenomenal acts including The Kooks (UK), The Jungle Giants (AUS) and Bombay Bicycle Club (UK).

Every dog participating will receive an LED light-up collar so you will literally be lighting up the streets for a good cause. Entrants will then proceed to enjoying a +/-3km night walk with their dogs which will start at sunset at Roosevelt High School and have them strolling through the leafy suburbs of Emmarentia and Greenside. The route will loop back to the school where you and your furry friends can enjoy a little pup festival. Picture it, a sea of pups in lit-up collars and wagging tails and you have an idea of what dotsure.co.za Night Walkies has in store for you and it’s all for the Animal Anti-Cruelty League.

Tickets are priced at R50 per dog and this includes a doggy hamper, which consists of an LED collar for the night walk, poop bag, carry bag and an information booklet.
