Sophiatown Police praised by resident

ROOSEVELT PARK – Celebrating those that assisted her son during a traumatic experience.

Resident applauds the police for the work they did to assist her son after a housebreaking.

It’s not everyday people take the time out of their day to publicly thank the police for their service. Today is one of those days as Roosevelt Park resident Anne* wanted to share her gratitude with Sophiatown Police Station, along with Fidelity ADT and the Sophiatown Neighbourhood Watch (SWN) for their service. Towards the end of 2019, Anne’s son was the victim of burglary.

Anne explained what had happened when her son discovered that his home was broken into. “My son arrived at his Westdene home on the day only to find that his home had been broken into. At the time he was unaware, but thanks to alerts by the members of SNW, the swift response of ADT and Sophiatown police, the perpetrators were apprehended.”

Anne and her son are thankful to all those involved who eventually got back all the stolen items. “A special thanks goes out to the members of Sophiatown Police Station for going the extra mile in assisting my son. Without their help, my son wouldn’t have been able to retrieve his stolen items and arranging to have them delivered to his home.”

She added that their service and communication throughout the experience and afterwards was superb and encouraged them to continue such.

*Anne is a fictional name given to the writer who asked we keep her identity hidden due to fears of her son being victimised or targeted.
