Grade 9 focus day careers

VICTORY PARK – The learners were given a presentation day to help them make the best choices in subjects for the senior phase of high school.


King David Victory Park hosted a successful Grade 9 Subject Choice Focus Day facilitated by Donna Prinsloo, head of life orientation in early September.

Prinsloo gave the learners a presentation on the wide variety of choices they can make for Grade 10 in the school, these subjects include: English, Afrikaans, IsiZulu, Hebrew, French, mathematics, mathematical literacy, history, geography, life sciences, physical sciences, accounting, business studies, information technology/computer applications technology (CAT), economic and management sciences (EMS), art, music, drama, dance, Jewish studies, AP English and AP mathematics.

Inspirational speaker and best-selling author, Nikki Bush, fascinated the parents and learners at the evening presentation. Bush wore five different jackets, each representing the stages of her professional career from making subject choices in Grade 9 through to building her own business today.

Counsellor at King David Victory Park Gita Lipschitz said, “Bush shared relevant information about degrees, professions and the changing world of work that our learners will be facing beyond 2020. This will help them with flexible thinking around studies and careers is the essence of future-proofing your career.”
