Avon Justine invites women to take a break in October to focus on breast health.

Since 2001, Avon Justine has been committed to the health of all women, and, in 2019 the company has renewed its commitment through the Take a #BreastBreak awareness campaign.

The 2019 iThemba Walkathon is set to highlight how exercise significantly reduces the risk of breast cancer. A 2018 global study of 19 000 respondents (including respondents from South Africa indicates that there is a low awareness of some of the important lifestyle factors that could prevent breast cancer, with almost two-thirds (64%) of women unaware that regular exercise (such as walking) could help lower the risk of developing breast cancer.

Beauty company Avon Justine will be hosting the fourteenth edition of its annual iThemba Walkathon breast cancer awareness event on Sunday, 20 October at Marks Park. The event will have a more health-conscious focus than ever before. Participants are required to pre-register on ithembawalkathon.co.za or through the iThemba Walkathon at just R175 per adult and R115 per child. Registrations can also be made on printed entry forms obtainable from participating Sportsman Warehouse stores.

With the option of a 5km or 8km when registering for the iThemba Walkathon, this is the perfect opportunity to make your life-saving walk. Participating will not only help you get healthier, but it will also help raise awareness of breast health amongst millions of women in South Africa. Avon Justine will also be working closely with Journesys, Wings of Hope, Look Good… Feel Better and CANSA as it looks to reach as many women as possible with the potentially life-saving education in line with its breast cancer promise.
