Linden pool ready for spring

LINDEN – Time to get those swimming trunks, shorts and suits out.

The time has come when the majority of the public will be looking for ways to cool down as the days get warmer.

Ward 99 councillor Nicole van Dyk said that the Linden swimming pool is ready to keep the public cool this spring and has invited everyone to visit it. According to the councillor, the pool is one of the most-used and well-kept public pools in the Johannesburg. “This is one of the most utilised pools in the city. It is a heated pool, there’s also an outdoor kiddies pool and it has wonderful gardens.”

The pool recently received some attention in the form of upgrades. “As part of the minor revamp, new glass doors were installed. The bathrooms had their tiles and taps changed as well.”

Three new boilers have also been hard at work to ensure the water temperature is always at cool 27ºC at all times.

The pool is a safe space for all as there is security in the parking area and lifeguards on duty at all times. “On busy days, there are four lifeguards, this is usually on weekends. During the week when it’s quieter, there will be two lifeguards on duty.”

Van Dyk did, however, urge those planning to visit the pools to ensure that they do not leave any valuables inside their vehicles, while they are in the pool.
