Moth Cottesloe Homes to host annual fête.

Cottesloe Moth Home hosted their annual fête to raise funds for the home.

The event took place on 2 June for its 12th year running. Stalls, music and an entertainment area for the kids kept the day alive.

The annual fundraiser is the biggest for the home which is run as a non-profit organisation. It is a home for retired ex-servicemen and women and their spouses.

Gates opened at 9am and closed at 5pm. In total the home had about 16 stands. This year attendees enjoyed book-stand stalls, a tea-and-cake section, a cake-and-candy stand, curry and rice, boerewors rolls, handcrafted wire crafts and second-hand clothing.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the South African Irish Regimental Pipes and Drums band who led the Jan Smuts parade. The fête also held raffles where everyone stood a chance to win unique prizes such as special handcrafted and donated items.
