Elm ParkVillage celebrates Lina Lategan’s 100th birthday

NORTHCLIFF – On 20 May, residents, friends and family came to honour the 100-year-old birthday girl.

 


Elm Park Village honoured Lina Lategan on 20 May when she turned 100 years old.

Celebrations got under way in the morning, with residents of the village, her family and friends coming together to honour her life on this very special day. As soon as the birthday girl arrived, she was met with embraces and congratulations on her centenary.

Manager Gert Coetzee first gave a speech welcoming and thanking everyone, and then Matron Hanlie Eksteen gave a short history on Lategan’s life. She was born in 1919, has lived through two World Wars and was blessed with a husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Musician Ricco de Villiers performed at Lategan’s celebration, and birthday cake, pastry treats, and tea were served in the lounge.
