Grade 1s start at Weltevreden Park Primary

A total of 200 children were inducted into the school’s 2019 Grade 1 class.

On Tuesday 8 January, Weltevreden Park Primary School saw 200 young’uns enter its main hall for an assembly that was held to welcome them as new Grade 1 students. The assembly occurred after a registration process on what was a special induction day for the children.

The induction day presented an opportunity for the new Grade 1s to be introduced to their teachers and to be acquainted with their new school environment. They were also sorted into their separate classes. Their welcome also included a little party on the school pavilion, during which they had the chance to make new friends.

The day was not just for the kids, however, as their parents were given useful information on what they could expect from the school over the forthcoming year. They were also taken on a tour of the various areas in and around the school where their children would be spending their time.

When it first opened its doors in early January of 1987, Weltevreden Park Primary School had just 209 students and was made up of grades 1 through to 6. Over the last 32 years it has expanded significantly, regularly adding new classrooms to accommodate an increasing annual influx of students, and eventually creating a seventh grade. This has also meant an increase in the number of staff members at the school.

Aside from its classrooms, Weltevreden Park Primary’s various facilities include library and media centre, a swimming pool, a tuck shop and a sports field with some awesome floodlights. It’s a wonderful environment for children to evolve academically, athletically and socially.

Those who might be interested in sending their children to this wonderful institution might also be keen on a move to Weltevreden Park. To find out about property opportunities in the area, click here.
