NORTHCLIFF – Ladies come together to give hope to the less fortunate.


NORTHCLIFF – Charity project Cosmos Care handed over food parcels to the Eeufees Oord old age home to the value of around R17 000 on 22 February.

The charity group consists of ladies from the Northcliff and Melville area who come together to do good in the community. The ladies have raised thousands of rands over the last few months which will be used to supply needy pensioners with food hampers, as well as other support.

Cosmos Care handed over of the food parcels to Rosa van Eck, who takes care of the ladies from the Eeufees Oord, and Dominee Hans Visser from the NG Church in Sophiatown. The handover took place at the Silver Spoon Teahouse in Northcliff.

The food parcels are handed out to the Eeufees Oord old age home on 22 February by the Cosmos Care.

Sandra Kruger from Cosmos Care said, “The ladies come together every month and give R100. The money in total is handed over to various charities at the end of each year. Today we will give R6 000 in cash to Rosa to help her take care of the ladies at the old aged home, R6 000 will also be handed to Dominee Visser for the church and the rest of the money went towards the food hampers we are giving away today.”

Kruger said she hoped by doing this the charity group hopes to motivate more people to give back into the community.
