King David matriculants continue the school’s 100 per cent pass rate

VICTORY PARK – No matriculants left behind at this school.

Another year, another 100 per cent matric pass rate for King David High School Victory Park.

King David High School Victory Park’s matriculants gave their school, parents and friends cause to celebrate as they achieved a 100 per cent pass rate yet again. Their class of 2018 had 57 candidates writing their exams and collectively they obtained some impressive results. 98.25 per cent of them passed with a bachelor’s degree admission while grabbing an average of 3.63 distinctions per candidate. In addition 90.74 per cent of all candidate achieved above 60 per cent in all subjects.

King David High School Victory Park is not only praising their achievements as a school but also the individual efforts and success of their learners. Four of learners scored eight distinctions each while seven attained seven distinctions as well.

The following students were part of the Independent Examination Boards top 1 per cent candidates for the following subjects:

  • Joshua Nossel – Afrikaans
  • Loren Kramer – business studies
  • Rachel Edelstein – English
  • Joshua Arenson – history
  • Gavriel Nossel – mathematics, life orientation and life sciences
  • Liad Peretz and Jason Mervis – mathematics
  • Benjamin Valkin – music

Headmaster of King David High School Victory Park, Andrew Baker had the following to say following the release of the results on 3 January. He said, “This year’s group have been strong and cohesive for their entire high school careers. In a co-ed school it is interesting to see a group of matrics that is dominated by an excellent academic performance by a strong group of boys. This pattern was similar to that of 2015.” Baker, his staff and families of this year’s high achieving matriculants are extremely proud of the hard work their learners put into the year and wish them well in the next journeys.
