Brixton police named second best crime prevention unit in Gauteng

BRIXTON – Police among the best in crime prevention.

The hard work of the Brixton Police Station has not gone unnoticed, as they have been named runner-up of the Best Crime Prevention Group of the year award.

The station claimed the second spot at this year’s provincial awards hosted at the end of October at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg.

The unit proved their determination to rid the streets of crime in their policing precinct in October as they were also named the best crime prevention unit for that month.

They managed to edge out 142 other stations for the prize.

Jeanette Backhoff, Brixton Police Station spokesperson said, “The station is very proud of our crime prevention unit. They are all hard working members and will go the extra mile to curb crime and catch the perpetrators in the Brixton policing precinct.”

Backhoff has also thanked the families of the unit’s members. She acknowledged that they had to do a lot of compromising due to the long hours the officers have to work.

She added that they appreciate their patience and understanding very much.
