Wits fail to win football championship

BRAAMFONTEIN – Wits will have to wait till 2020 to get revenge.

Goals from Godfrey Mahlala and Collen Vilakazi made the trip to Johannesburg worthwhile as Tshwane University of Technology (Tut) beat Wits University to win the Varsity Football trophy on 27 September.

Wits went into the match undefeated at home and had high hopes for their first Varsity Football final.

 

Wits captain Tshireletso Motsogi gave his team the lead midway through the first half.

Tut puts the final nail in the coffin of Wits as they score a late goal that gave them the win and the title.

 

 

In the end, Tut took their opportunities which earned them the Varsity Football trophy for the second time.
