Elm Park Village hosts its long service awards ceremony
NORTHCLIFF – Honouring a collective 625 years of service and experience.
Elm Park Village recently celebrated the commitment of their hardworking staff at their Long Service Awards ceremony.
The village showed its appreciation of those who have helped keep the organisation running by treating them to a day of awards, recognition and celebration.
They had their 2018 Long Service Awards and honoured 53 members of staff with awards ranging from five years of service all the way to 30 years of service.
The ceremony was hosted by Johan Raubenheimer, the chief executive officer of the Flower Foundation, who was pleased to shake the hands of every award recipient and welcomed their families to Elm Park Village for this prestigious event.
The top honours of the day went to Mabel Mashigo, Florence Moraladi and Isaac Sibanda who have served the Flower Foundation for 30 years.
The room was filled with joy as they were each called up to the podium to receive their award with friends and family flocking to the stage to take photos and videos of them.
The event was made more enjoyable as there were performances from the Elm Park and Witpoortjie choirs.
A member of the board, Nombuso Ramokgopa delievered the keynote address at the event.
Ramokgopa, who holds a master’s degree in health, has experience in communication and health thanks to previous careers.
She shared words of encouragement and appreciation with those who were being awarded. She said, “When I see someone who has been employed at the same institution for 30 years I get overjoyed. We don’t get that anymore.
“People are too scared to commit, be it for their work or personal relationships.”
She went on to congratulate every award winner and reminded them that their efforts are highly appreciated. Raubenheimer was pleased with Ramokgopa’s role at the Flower Foundation Retirement Homes.
He said, “We are really privileged to have someone with such experience and commitment to serve on our board.”
