The picnic is an annual event at the school and this year’s edition was as successful as the school hoped for it to be.

Youngsters from the school along with their friends and family enjoyed the musical sets of Johnston, from Mango Groove fame, and Mahola, lead singer for Freshly Ground.

A lucky group of grade 7s and their talented music teacher got to share the stage with the Freshly Ground star as they performed as her backing band – a truly unique and exciting experience for the schoolgirls.

The school’s music director Alison Gericke said, “What an honour to have two of SA’s most iconic female musicians making music with our girls!”
