164 arrests made by Linden police

LINDEN – More than five arrests a day by Linden police in May.

The Linden Police Station can confirm that they arrested 164 suspects in May.

Linden police spokesperson Constable Takalani Matumba said the suspects had been arrested for committing various offences.

Linden police cover areas such as Linden, Victory Park, Robin Hills and Cresta, and have been hard at work at finding those implicated in criminal activities.

Of the 164 arrests made, the most common arrests were for the following crimes:

  • Assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
  • Shoplifting
  • Drinking in public
  • Possession of car breaking implements
  • Possession of dagga
  • Theft.

 

They also made a number of arrests for the following:

  • Malicious damage to property
  • Armed robbery
  • Housebreaking
  • Common robbery.
