Early on Saturday morning, 19 May, I was intrigued to hear what I took to be men working in the park opposite my house on the corner of Austin Road and Riana Avenue in Northcliff as it is very unusual, at least in my experience, for municipal workers to mow parks over a weekend.
One could imagine my surprise and delight to see councillor Dave Hensman, in his gardening clothes, helping to remove the grass that had grown over the kerbstones of the park and into the tarred road.
My thanks and admiration to councillor Hensman for not being afraid to get his hands dirty and also for his dedication to his Ward 88 constituents. Well done councillor, your efforts are appreciated.
