Juma challenge, best way to experience the city

PARKTOWN – Get your bikes and helmets ready.

The annual Juma event allows participants to experience Johannesburg in a way never imagined before.

The Jozi Urban Mountain bike Adventure (Juma) is an experience created and hosted by Bam and Hollard and will take place on 3 June.

The off-road cycling adventure is designed in a way that pushes your adrenaline, energy and bike riding skills right to the edge.

The most amazing feature of the challenge is the places in which the trail will take one.

Beginning at Marks Park, Emmarentia, participants ill ride over Jan Smuts Avenue on a floating bridge, explore the stormwater drains below Parktown, absorb sunlight riding through Zoo Lake, witness the panoramic views of Johannesburg from the Melville Koppies and many other special surprises.

The route ends back at Marks Park where participants and their friends and family can enjoy music, food and drinks.

The adventure was put together with the assistance of City Parks and the Johannesburg Zoo.

Safety of those in attendance during the event will not be compromised as private security and Metro police will be present to ensure nothing goes wrong.

Medical services and marshalls will also be on standby along the route for extra assistance.

Riders are spoilt for choice and distance as Juma has three main routes that participants can compete in.

The shortest being the 22km, followed by the 54km route.

The most demanding but equally rewarding route is known as The Punisher, which is a 74km route.

If you have children who would love to take their bikes out for some fresh air, there will also be a children’s route (1 to 2km). Juma promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family.

Tickets are still available and more information on JUMA can be found on, https://www.joziadventure.co.za/about-juma/
