The stray dog that was seen wandering in Greymont over the past month was taken to the Bergbron Animal Clinic on 27 March.
The clinic has agreed to keep the dog for 10 days and take care of her while its owners or another family willing to adopt the dog comes forward.
The sandy brown Alsatian-cross with black tipped ears and tail, had the Greymont community worried about the animal and a search for its owner began without much luck.
Community members tried to catch the dog but it kept running away.
It was thanks to one community member, who wished to remain anonymous, who helped to catch the stray dog.
The community member gained the dog’s trust by giving her bits of biltong.
