Touching lives one talk at a time

ROOSEVELT PARK – Touching the lives of people is what keeps this resident going.

Her life’s work has been dedicated to touching the lives of others and enlightening them through public speaking.

Gem Homes resident Katharine-Lee Kruger wears many hats, adding to her impressive profile. She built her brand as an authour, Radio Today presenter, motivational speaker and soul retrieval practitioner. She is also the principal of Katharine Lee’s School of Holistic Healing.

“My passion started when I completed a Dale Carnegie course in public speaking and also completed a management diploma in public relations many years ago. I’ve been doing this for about 30 years. I’ve always wanted to inspire people and give them the tools to cope with life,” said Kruger.

The public speaking guru gives talks on various topics which are based on outlines given by organisations. Her presentations are tailor-made according to the conference or event.

Due to her love for meeting new people and interacting with them, she has done a number of talks for women’s groups, church organisations and the general public.

She has given talks on topics such as how to avoid being hurt, healing wisdom of Africa and discovering your phenomenal self. When she was a radio presenter for three years she was production manager for a production company and on a weekly basis produced content educational programmes on healthy living.

Kruger also worked as as a features writer for a beauty magazine.

“Having worked as a features writer I learnt how to do research. What people find inspiring about me is when I share the challenges I’ve had to overcome in life which includes multiple deaths, financial ruin, being homeless, getting divorced twice and being a single parent. I tell people I’ve been there and this is how I overcame it.”

She is also an ethnomedicine practitioner. Next year she plans to give educational courses on creative writing, public speaking and outsource people to teach art classes.
