In solidarity with Israel

VICTORY PARK – King David Victory Park commemorates a special occasion.

 

King David High School Victory Park  celebrated the 69th anniversary of the State of Israel with a unique and exciting assembly.

In his second visit to the school, guest speaker, his Excellency, the Ambassador of Israel, Arthur Lenk, addressed the school about the contribution Israel has made in so many areas of science and technology.

On the day, schoolchildren put on various performances such as dancing, singing and reading.

Other honoured guests were Aviad Sela, head of Israel Centre; Rabbi Craig Kacev, general director of SA Board of Jewish Education; Ronli Dorfman of The SA Zionist Federation; and Rabbi Mark Friedman from Soul.

The day had many fun activities such as photo booths, mini maccabiah, which was taken from the international Jewish multi-sport event now held quadrennially in Israel.

They school children also made candles and pita bread.

Hanna Moshe from the school said, “Learners happily celebrated the independence day of Israel, which was a way for them to form solidarity with the State of Israel.
