Two suspects aged between 32 and 38-years-old were arrested after police officers received a tip-off regarding unlicensed firearms in Westbury.
On 27 March, Sophiatown Police Station received information about unlicensed firearms.
Warrant Officer TJ de Bruyn, spokesperson for the station said the police officers searched the specified location and discovered two rifles found buried in the yard.
“Two suspects were arrested and a case of possession of unlicensed firearms was opened,” he said.
De Bruyn appealed to the public to come forward with any information they may have on the case.
