HONEYDEW – New Honeydew Fight Club boxer given a chance to shine

HONEYDEW – Honeydew Fight Club has brought in an experienced boxer, Thabang ‘Pretty boy’ Ramagole (26) in the hope to claim the Gauteng Light Flyweight Championship title from reigning champion Mpho ‘Turbo’ Seforo.
Seforo, from Team Dida training club, won the title in an enthralling match against Honeydew Fight Club boxer Percy ‘The Kool Kid’ Mkhize last year in Krugersdorp.
Mkhize who, according to the rules, should have been granted a rematch for the title. He was not, but decided to give up the shot and focus on building his confidence as he prepares for another fight against Limpopo boxer, Nyelisani Thambaga in March.

Ramagole promised to outsmart Seforo and walk away as the new Gauteng champion.

“I’m not a fighter like Mpho, I’m a boxer and I promise to school him and outsmart him,” said Ramagole.

He added that the opportunity will open doors for him.

“The fight will bring me steps closer to being recognised worldwide and open doors in international boxing competitions.”

Born in Soweto, Ramagole has an impressive record of 17 fights, 10 knockouts, one draw, and only three losses. He has represented Gauteng in Durban and won trophies throughout his amateur career before turning professional in 2013.

Honeydew Fight Club boxer Thabang Ramagole aims to make a name for himself internationally.

A provisional date of 1 April has been set by both parties. Seforo’s boxing manager, Dida Dipheko agreed that a verbal agreement was made. He said, however, a contract signing still has to be done to formalise the fight.
