Jamie Bartlett hijacked and robbed of jewellery worth R1.2m.

BRIXTON — Actor Jamie Bartlett was hijacked by three men at an intersection and dumped in Zonkizizwe on the East Rand.

Rhythm City actor and SA’s Got Talent judge Jamie Bartlett was hijacked and forced into the boot of his car at about 10.30pm on 27 January near Auckland Park.

Gauteng police spokesperson, Captain Kay Makhubela, said Bartlett’s car was stationary at the intersection of Owl Street and Frost Avenue when three men approached. “They pointed guns at him. After they hit him in the face, they shoved him into the boot of his car.”

The men drove to an open field in Zonkizizwe on the East Rand, robbed him and sped off in his Mercedes Benz. Bartlett apparently waited there until daylight. “In the morning he walked to the nearest house, where he asked for assistance.”

The locals called Zonkizizwe police, who were able to assist him. He was robbed of his iPhone 7 and two gold rings, which he said were valued at R1.2 million. A case of kidnapping and hijacking has been opened.
