Northcliff power outage leads to rates boycott bid

NORTHCLIFF – Resident asks the community to boycott electricity rates following a perceived lack of substation maintenance.

An outraged resident, Graham Blain, has taken to social media to get support for his survey to boycott City Power payments. This follows on-going electricity disruptions in the Northcliff area.

The Roosevelt Park substation is believed to be the cause of the crisis, but City Power has yet to confirm this.

Blain shared his online survey on the I love Northcliff Facebook group appealing to unhappy community members to join the campaign.

Another resident shared on the group that the area’s security company, SCP security, had alerted City Power about the problem.

In a string of responses on Twitter, City Power confirmed various areas including Sundowner and Northcliff are currently experiencing power outages. The entity tweeted that technicians are working on the Northcliff outage.
