Unique shopping experience

MELVILLE – The Junkie Charity Shop encourages residents to donate any items that can be re-sold in order to raise funds for the charities they support.

The Junkie Charity Shop is dedicated to raising funds for various organisations through their second-hand shop based in Melville.

The store sells a number of beautiful items donated by the public, and percentage of the funds raised are allocated to charities who use funds for their needs.

Shop owner Michelle de Villiers said that the highlight of this year was celebrating the store’s sixth birthday at the new premises on 7th Street.

“At Junkie we never experience low points, we are sometimes challenged by a lack of time and I often find myself saying that I wish there were more hours in a day. The people who deserve recognition are each and every customer who pays a visit to our store, as well as the people who donate so generously. These are the people who make it possible for us to raise money for our charities,” said De Villiers.

She added that she aims to offer a unique shopping experience for customers and to raise money for partner charities. Throughout the year, the charity store will announce special retail offers which will be advertised on their Facebook page.

“Our wish for the festive season is that people will pay us a visit, buy from our store and drop off their unused items,” concluded De Villiers.
