A suspect was arrested after he robbed and tried to stab his victim at Emmarentia Botanical Gardens.
The suspect tried to run away from the scene, however, the garden’s security was quick to respond and managed to apprehend him.
Captain Menzi Miya of the Parkview Police Station said the security officers called the police station and they took the man into custody. He urged the public to be aware of their surroundings and make sure that they are in view of the security officers stationed at the gardens.
“There have been cases of this nature before, however, witnesses or victims do not come forward and report them,” said Miya. He urged people to come forward and report any such incidences.
