FAIRLAND – Three are injured in accident on Wilson Street.

Firemen and a Netcare 911 rescue officer used jaws of life to free trapped passengers in an accident in Fairland this morning (3 September).

According to Netcare 911 media liaison officer, Chris Botha, A vehicle with two men and a women had apparently veered of the road and hit a wall on Wilson Street, at about 1.13am.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the occupants still trapped in the twisted frame of the vehicle, two with life-threatening injuries while one was in a serious condition,” Botha said.

Firemen and rescue officers from Netcare 911 and ER24 used the jaws of life to free the injured passengers, before paramedics clambered into the wreckage to stabiliase them.

Botha added that once the passengers were stabilised, one was airlifted to a specialised facility while the other two were transported by ambulance to hospitals in the area.
