Water woes continue

JOBURG – Joburg Water announces more planned and unplanned water interruptions.

Areas affected by planned water service interruptions, scheduled for 12 and 13 April, have been released by Joburg Water, however water interruptions in Fontainebleau were not part of the plans.

A burst pipe at the corner of Maria Street and Rabie Street in Fontainebleau has caused the water to be switched off. A team is on site to make the necessary repairs. The estimated time of completion is late afternoon on 12 April. The following streets are affected: Aimee Street, Maria Street, Rabie Street, Seventh Avenue, Charlie Road, Blesbok Road.

The following areas are affected by planned water interruptions:

  • Honeydew, North Riding and surrounds:

All streets in these areas will be affected from 9am on 12 April till 3pm on 13 April. Restoration will take place from 3pm on 13 April till late in the evening. The reason for the interruption is the Randwater tie-in.

  • Emmarentia and Greenside:

Various streets will be affected from 8am till 7pm on 12 April with a restoration time between 7pm and 9pm. The reason for the interruption is a tie-in to an existing water main for a new development.

Residents are reminded level two water restrictions are in effect. Vandalism or theft of water infrastructure can be reported to 080 000 2587. Residents can subscribe to an SMS notification system for alerts on planned or unplanned service interruptions on the Joburg Water website.
