An enchanting evening

JOBURG – Josh Groban steals the hearts of 12 000 fans at the TicketPro Dome with his soulful ballads.

Josh Groban filled the TicketPro Dome with his enigmatic voice and left the audience pining for more on 8 April. It was a very special night and fans were not left disappointed.

It had been five years since Groban graced South African fans with his melodic tunes. Though, every noted he belted out reminded them why he was worth the wait. He sang all of his fans favourite songs and they did not hold back in showing him their love for his sheer talent. The night was made even more enthralling as Groban was joined by a live orchestra band.

He divulged that although it had been some time since he came to our beautiful country, and although a lot had changed, the love he felt then and felt now, was still the same. He shared that he was grateful of all the support that he receives from people across the world especially in South Africa.

It was very intimate and personal atmosphere for all 12 000 fans who came together to enjoy a night of spellbinding auditory pleasure. He made the audience feel like they knew him and he also added some South African flare to his set, as he sang with local talent too. Magdalene Minnaar, a soprano singer and The Mzansi Youth choir had their chance to sing with the international artist.

Two powerful stage moments were when Groban sang one of his chart toppers, ‘Raise me Up’ and a song he loved since his first visit to the country, ‘Weeping’ originally sang by Bright Blue.
