Children’s home receives a helping hand

MELVILLE – Hotel Hope Ministries believe in taking care of abandoned and orphaned babies.

Hotel Hope Ministries is a children’s home with staff who are passionate about taking care of abandoned and orphaned babies.

Lombard Insurance underwriter Helgaard Muller and his team offered their time to help paint the outside of the children’s home. Muller said that they are familiar with the good work that Hotel Hope is doing in the community and wanted to do something positive for them.

“Our organisation does charity work often and decided to buy paint to paint the walls outside. This is also a good team-building exercise while we also give our time and effort to a worthy cause,”explained Muller.

Hotel Hope Ministries operations manager Renata Noble said she has been working for the organisation for the past four years, after leaving the corporate world.

“To transition from the corporate world to a non-government organisation is different, but it is definitely more rewarding to contribute to a child’s life,” said Noble.

She explained that the organisation takes in newborn babies up until they reach the age of 12 years old.

Hotel Hope Ministries founder and managing director Oliver Quambusch said that he has always been involved in charity and volunteer work.

“I volunteered at a children’s home 10 years ago and was inspired by the need but also the relative desire to want to meet those needs. My philosophy is to learn, earn and return. I wanted to turn what I learned in business into a charity. I also have experience in children’s homes prior to founding my organisation,” explained Quambusch.

He added that during that time he came into contact with many mothers who gave up their children for adoption. This made him realise that they gave up their children due to factors such as poverty. So far 42 out of 60 children have been adopted since 2011 and they currently take care of 18 children.

“We urge the public to please assist us in any way possible, in order to help abandoned children and provide them with a loving home with dedicated people taking care of them,” concluded Quambusch.
