20 people injured in taxi collision

MONTGOMERY PARK –Three way motor vehicle collision causes havoc.

Twenty people were injured in a collision between a taxi, bakkie and two cars at the corners of Beyers Naude Drive and Judith Road.

ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found the badly damaged taxi that had overturned lying on its roof on 11 March.

Three passengers were trapped in the taxi. Fire and rescue services, with the assistance of paramedics, used the jaws of life and other rescue tools to extricate the injured passengers.

Upon assessment it was found that they sustained serious injuries.

More injured people were found sitting on the pavement. They were assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries. They were treated and transported to various hospitals.

The exact cause of the accident is unknown.

Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
