Hyde Park has a splash

HYDE PARK – Hyde Park High School pupils cheer for their houses at the Inter-house Gala.

Hyde Park High School pupils enjoyed a morning of cheering for their houses at the Inter-house Swimming Gala recently. This is always an event where every pupil is involved, either as a cheerleader, swimmer or part of the supporting house.

Rutland – the yellow house – won the gala as well as the Spirit Trophy (532 points) with Grosvenor placed second (489 points), followed by Leicester (451 points) in third place, and Marlborough in the fourth position (432 points). Rutland won a total of five of the six trophies at the gala.

The junior girls’ victrix ludorum went to Paige Carter while the senior girls’ victrix ludorum was awarded to Robyn Fourie. The junior boys’ victor ludorum was won by Cole Hutchinson and the senior victor ludorum went to Eric Cyrus. Headmaster, Manolis Vogiatzis commented on the exceptional swimmers among the new Grade 8 pupils and congratulated Rutland on an almost clean sweep of the trophy table.
