Remains handed over to Madiba’s family

AUCKLAND PARK – Madiba to have a private funeral.

Palesa Madiba’s remains were handed over to her family on 24 January by the Diepkloof mortuary.

After human remains were found of UJ (University of Johannesburg) student in Phiri Soweto on 17 December, it was finally confirmed that they were indeed Madiba’s remains. Madiba from Diepkloof went missing three years ago while visiting a friend for the weekend in the same yard her remains were found.

Social media has been in rage ever since the discovery of the remains, people are demanding that someone has to pay for Madiba’s death and fingers are being pointed at Madiba’s friend, Tshidi Mkhwanazi whom she was visiting.

When contacted, Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Mashadi Selepe said that she cannot comment on the case at the moment as it is still under investigation. A private funeral will be held on 26 January by Madiba’s family.
