Watch the trailer for Vir Altyd

The official trailer of new Afrikaans romantic adventure Vir Altyd (Forever) was released on 30 October.

The film’s two main characters are played by actors Ivan Botha and Donnalee Roberts, and includes other well known

South African actors such as Ilse Roos, Dirk Stolz, Elize Cawood and Wilson Dunster.

Starburst marketing manager Alishia van Deventer said the film is not a sequel of their first film Pad na jou Hart (Road to your Heart), although, the undeniable quality of its predecessor can clearly be seen in the film.

Van Deventer said the team includes once again Danie Bester as co-producer, Jaco Smit as director and Jaques Koudstaal as cinematographer.

She said the film starts off in Paarl in the Western Cape and has scenes from the Picardie Guest House, the historic Toringkerk (Dutch Reformed Church), the Afrikaans Language Monument, the Rhebokskloof Wine Estate and the Afrikaans Volksmond coffee and curio shop.

Van Deventer said scenes from Mauritius will also be included, featuring places such as the 23-Coloured Earth, Ile aux Aigrettes, the ruins of Belle Mare, and the market in the Flacq District.

“The film is primarily located at World Leisure Holidays and Sun Resorts’luxury five-star Long Beach Golf and Spa Resort.

“Vir Altyd comprises strong relationship themes and portrays the different seasons of love through different couples. Therefore, the movie will resonate with every person from male to female and young and old,” said Van Deventer.

Van Deventer said Francois Bloemhof adapted the script and diverted it into a novel that has been available since October.

She said an add-on to the film that makes it even more spectacular is the sound track that will be released together with the film in February next year.
