A fire is currently out of control at Melville Koppies Nature Reserve. The reserve’s chairperson Wendy Carstens said that a fire is spreading in the reserve, and despite numerous complaints from concerned residents, City of Joburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) have still not responded.
Ward 117 councillor Tim Truluck tweeted a photo of the fire with the following text, “Melville Koppies burning. 3-4m high flames. No working fire engines.
