Nestea takes the plunge back into South Africa

LINDEN – The Linden Swimming Pool plays host to celebrity plunge campaign.

Nestea, now under license to Clover, is making a comeback with a new recipe. On 26 August the Take the Plunge campaign kicked off at the Linden Swimming Pool with six celebrities – Roxy Burger, Shashi Naidoo, Jessica Nkosi, Trevor Gumbi, Mark Fish and Lunga Shabalala to help Nestea “take the plunge” back into the South African Market by falling backwards into a pool of water to raise funds for Choc. The campaign aims to raise R100 000 for Choc.

The event was hosted by Greg Aldridge and Lucky du Plessis, better known as 94.7FM’s “Greg and Lucky” who also donned a change of clothes to take the plunge.

Marketing manager for Clover, Sally Witherden, is pleased about the partnership. Witherden said, “We wanted the relaunch of the campaign to be fun but we’re also pleased to be working with CHOC as it’s an organisation very close to our hearts.” Choc CEO Carl Queiros also thanked guests and the celebrities for their support of the campaign.

The campaign launches on 1 September. On every Saturday from 12 September to 17 October, celebrities will take the plunge backwards into a refreshing pool alongside a winning fan. Calls-to-entry for fans to submit their most creative outfit suggestion for the celebrity plunging that week opens every Monday to Thursday from 7 September to 15 October. Lines open at 8am on Monday and close at 10am on Thursday.

Official celebrity plunge videos will be shared weekly and voting week will open from 26 October to 30 October. Lines will be open until 12pm. Fans can submit votes for their favourite celebrity and fan plunge videos. The celebrity plunge with the most votes will win the prize of up to R100 000 for Choc, and the winning fan a luxury trip for two to the Knysna Tonquani Resort and Spa for four nights valued at R50 000.

Entry into the competition is free, with Nestea donating R10 to Choc for each vote received. To get involved in the “Take the Plunge” conversation, all you have to do is like the Nestea South Africa page on Facebook, follow @NESTEASA on Twitter and follow the #TakeThePlunge cues.
