Gym equipment builds business acumen as well as muscles

A recent display of commitment to support the local community by Phillips Lighting saw a donation of gym equipment to the Westbury Youth Centre. Jenny Heyes, marketing manager of Philips Lighting Southern Africa said, “As we were planning to move out of Martindale, we wanted to give back to the community that supported us in the time that we were there.”

She explained that the relationship with the Youth Centre began last year when Philips Lighting were looking for a school in the community as their Corporate Social Responsibility relates to education. The equipment was donated to create an income-generating gym for the local community as well as allowing the students an opportunity to learn and acquire new business skills in the health and wellness space.
