Mysterious rubble dumping
EMMARENTIA — Tana Road Park's rubble dumper strikes in the night.
A mystery person comes at night and dumps rubble at Tana Road Park, Emmarentia.
According to one resident, Kurt van der Berg the dumping happens at night or very early in the morning when the perpetrator cannot be seen.
“It has been happening since last week and the last time they came was Monday. I heard the noise at around 2am in the veld, but I could not see who it was when I looked out the window. I called Joburg City Parks and they said they would send investigators to the park.”
Van der Berg said he is worried about people who may start adding their rubbish on that pile. “People will add to it and it will just become a bigger problem and before you know it, it’s a big rubbish spot,” he added.
Chairperson for the Emmarentia Residents Association Wolfgang Phoenix said they are aware of the problem, however, the resident would need to log a complaint with the Joburg City Parks and Zoo in order for them to stop it.
