Dear Linden Residents

On behalf of Red Pepper Pictures, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents of Linden for all the support that we have received over the past years.

Our company has grown since 1995 and we will be celebrating our 20th Birthday in October this year.

Since our arrival in Linden in 1998 we have enjoyed being a part of the Linden community and we appreciate and love our village as much as all of you.

In September last year we were approached by Endemol Shine Africa to assist them with the hosting of the Big Brother show.

Their studio in Balfour Park had burnt down and with two weeks to broadcast, they urgently needed to find a new home.

Red Pepper had purchased what used to be known as ‘Die Blou Hond’ and we had converted the place into a multi-purpose venue.

The idea was to use the place for functions, exhibitions and TV recordings.

We are very proud of the fact that we were able to host Big Brother successfully here in Linden and that two seasons later we are looking forward to hosting the next season called Big Brother Angola.

Hosting a project of this magnitude is not without its challenges and we are conscious of the concerns that our neighbours have raised.

These concerns include noise generated by our generator during load shedding, noise coming from the Big Brother house, parking constraints and noise generated during the eviction show at our studio located at 58 4th ave.

Red Pepper takes these concerns seriously and have taken the following steps:

1) We will re-locate the standby generator to our parking lot to free up a parking space outside our building.

2) We are busy installing additional sound proofing on our generator and this will ensure that noise levels are well within legal limits.

3) Steps have been taken to contain noise emanating from the Big Brother house.

4) Steps have been taken to contain the noise levels during eviction shows on a Sunday night.

5) We have made additional parking available to our staff, clients and guests and we trust that this will be sufficient. If not, we are willing to take additional measures to achieve this.

6) Our staff have been made aware of the concerns raised by neighbours and are sensitised to address concerns.

We would like to encourage you to communicate with us, should any one of you feel that you have been inconvenienced in any way.

Please address your concerns to info@redpepper.co.za and we will reply to each email received or phone Leonie on 011 446 7051.

We value our relationship with the Linden community and sincerely hope that we are able to work together to achieve a positive outcome to the challenges that we have been faced with.
