Support Truluck’s electric bike initiative

VICTORY PARK –Truluck raises funds for an electric bike for Ward 117.

Ward 117 councillor Tim Truluck says his ward is the most cycle-friendly ward in Joburg and he has been riding around on electric bicycles since June 2014.

“I have been riding an assortment of electric bikes, initially it was to help with the rehab after my knee operation but I have discovered that it is an excellent toll that enables me to get out into my ward.”

He started a crowd-funding initiative where he will use funds to obtain an electric bike for himself to use in his ward. “The bike will belong to Ward 117 so my successor one day will be able to use it as well.”

Truluck added and said that R3 400 has already been collected but he still needs R17 000 to be able to purchase a bike. “I have to thank the residents that have donated R3 400 already,” said Truluck.

“The bike that I’m currently using is supplied by a company called Green Cycles, it works perfectly for me as I use it in parks and green belts and during events. It’s easy to park and the electronic motor is only used when I’m cycling up hills so that I don’t reach my meetings dripping with sweat.”
