Support Mandela Day 2015

JOBURG - The Nelson Mandela Foundation urges the public to register for Mandela Day.

On 12 May, The Nelson Mandela Foundation announced its campaign for Mandela Day 2015, which is on 18 July.

The foundation urged the public to register their actions on www.mandeladay.com.

“Nelson Mandela’s legacy has created the opportunity for us to achieve a bright future,” commented Sello Hatang, chief executive of the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

“Madiba aptly said: ‘What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives

of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead’.”

It was Mandela’s humble humanitarian philosophy and how he sought to live it every day that made him one of the most inspiring leaders in the world – free yourself, free others and serve every day.

He added that Madiba believed that every person has the ability to change the world for the better, no matter how big or small their contribution. In his twilight years, he encouraged all of us to carry his life’s work forward when he famously said: “It is in your hands now …”

In honouring Madiba’s legacy, the Nelson Mandela Foundation will recognise and celebrate the Mandela Day activities, both individual and group, in 2015.

Create or join the action on the Mandela Day website, share your story with the world, and help inspire global change.
