Abbotts College Northcliff pupils synchronises her way to the top

NORTHCLIFF – Kellyn Davies gave a sterling performance at the National Level Synchronised Swimming Competition.

Abbotts College Northcliff’s Kellyn Davies came out tops at the National Level Synchronised Swimming Competition that recently took place at Northwood Boys’ High School in Durban

Davies, a Grade 11 pupil, was the captain of the Gauteng club, which was invited along with several other clubs from around South Africa.

The competition is divided into three sections – technical work (figures) where specific movements are judged and scored; solos where each competitor swims a routine for a set period of time; duets, trios and group routines. The scores from all three of the sections are totalled for each competitor, and then for their entire club.

Gauteng won overall, taking first place in the U10, U12, U13 to 15 and U16 to 18 categories.

“Congratulations to Kellyn Davies who won first prize in all the events she competed in – in the age group 16 to 18, in South Africa,” said Abbotts College Northcliff principal JC Engelbrecht.
