Fun run for tots

PARKTOWN – Pupils of The Regenbogen Kids had a day of fun at the school's yearly Easter fun run.

The Regenbogen Kids at Die Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg (DSJ) recently held a yearly Easter fun run fundraiser.

The purpose of the run was to offer a day of fun for the pupils, as well as to collect enough money to build an additional jungle gym for the newly-built facilities for the toddler group.

The fun run was organised by the kindergarten’s staff who were also supported by the ground staff of the entire school.

Principal at The Regenbogen Kids Brigitte Helmrich said he was proud of the fact that all staff members and parents worked very hard on the day, making the run a huge success.

“We surpassed our target of R35 000 and have money spare to invest in jungle gym equipment,” she said.

The school choir performed before the start of the run, with all the children joining in to sing the fun run Easter song.

The run followed a clearly marked route through the enormous school grounds with 12 different obstacle courses. Having managed an entire round, the pupils then passed to a waterhole with drinks and fresh fruit, where they were rewarded with a medal and a certificate.
