Bruce’s rapports keep Ward running

JOHANNESBURG – Good relationships ensure service delivery in Ward 99.

Residents of Ward 99 can be grateful for the manner in which Bruce Herbert conducts his business. The Ward councillor deals with municipal problems by maintaining good working relationships with officials in the City of Johannesburg. When there are billing complaints, unmaintained grass in parks, or street lights not working, Herbert does not throw a tantrum.

He invites the authorities to breakfast, and calmly relays all the problems he wants resolved. “You will find in Ward 99 we get things done,” he says. “Because I have a working rapport with the heads of department.” Furthermore, a City official once apparently told Herbert that the suburb of Linden would not suffer the effects of loadshedding as much as others, because of their good relationship.

“When I retired I wanted to… put something back in the community,” Herbert explains. “I still enjoy it [being a councillor] because of the achievements, such as parks cut, street lights burning, potholes fixed, and storm water drains unblocked.” What Herbert does not like about his job, is sale boards left illegally on street corner s for more than a week, and the City not fixing something the first time.

Herbert is responsible for the following areas: parts of Blairgowrie, Cresta Ext 3 and 5, parts of Darrenwood, parts of Ferndale, Jacanlee, Linden, Moret, Robin Acres, Robindale, and Robin Hills.

If residents wish to receive Herbert’s regular newsletter, send him an email.
